Our Potential Yesterdays
This project is a continuation, and sequel to my other paleontography-based art project “Potential Yesterdays”. I received a good response when I made the original project, and many fans suggested great ideas of their own for creatures that fit this paradigm. After canvassing for additional suggestions and adding some of my own, “Our Potential Yesterdays” was born.
The premise is the same as before, draw creatures that may have existed in the fossil record, but have not been recovered yet. Creatures like this may eventually be found, as the predictive power of hard science fiction can be very strong indeed.
For the sake of fairness, I will not label the sources for each idea, as some people made a great number more of successful suggestions than others. Finally, many thanks to all of my friends and fans who made suggestions for this project.

Speculation in palaeontology has been the subject of an inimitable book by Darren Naish, Mehemet Koseman, and John Conway. “All Yesterdays” is an indirect inspiration for this art project, and I would encourage you to buy it:
